This is not a selling post so didn't put it in classified. It seems I will acquire this 308 carbine version soon. IF you own or have owned would like to hear your reviews of it. 308 is good round I know. Thanks

I have one and it is very accurate with 168gr.Federal Gold Match. I have taken two deer with it using handloads I worked up. I don't care for retractable stocks so I switched it out for a fixed. My only complaint was the factory trigger was awful. Replaced with a varmint and its good to go.

I bought one and hated the hand guard so I put a free float hand guard on it before I shot it, then realized the trigger is garbage so I replaced it with a Geissele SSA-E. I now love it and it is very accurate.

Buddy of mine got one on sale for cheap. He changed the trigger and put on a free float handguard. I have not shot it but he claims to be getting ~1MOA and is a big fan.

Well so far so good on reviews. 25 years ago I loaned someone $2500.00 A few days ago that person asked why we never had a good relationship. To make story short they offered this gun that has never been fired still in box to clear the debt. I excepted it.

Not worth $2500/ less than half that but it is a nice accurate shooter.
I have a gen 1 dpms 308 and hunted with it for 2 seasons shooting 147/150grain ammo . Took out deer/pig/bobcats in the 150-175 yard range with absolutely no problem. The only thing I didn't like is the weight of the Gen1 guns by the time you get ammo/scope and anything else you want easily pushing 10-11 pounds. Not a big deal if shooting from a blind, but
it gets heavy walking. I would like to replace it with the new Gen2 light weight version.

Well...since you got this to clear a debt and not "really" wanting it. And the reviews on this gun are horrible. They suck big time! Not worth it even getting one free.. So... I'd be glad to take it off your hands "free" and dispose of it properly????? Lol

With just inflation and no interest, $2500 twenty five years ago is $4300 now.

Put a trigger in it and slowly built it to how you want it. Not a damn thing wrong with that rifle for sure up Hopefully you and your brother can move past previous actions and have a good relationship cheers

Have one and love it. Changed out the furniture. Trigger upgrade next. Enjoy yours. Good job on mending the fence. That's worth more than the price difference on the gun.

Which is the main issue with the rifles like the dpms. Crap furniture and crap trigger. Once you replace those you end up spending a lot more on the rifle than if you just built one. Good solid rifles though. It will serve him well.

Mine shoots great, very happy with it with free float hand guard and polished trigger job. Just built a .338 Federal upper and 6.5 Creedmoore upper for it but haven't shot them yet....

I once drank muddy water out of a hoof print and was dang glad to get it.
