Not active duty but my daughter had a fairly severe case. She was a competitive cheer leader and worked out seriously. As long as she had her inhaler she was fine.

Thanks for your response, sir. Reason I was asking, is because it pretty much ruined my career. I didn't know I had asthma, until I looked at my medical records and saw where a doctor had diagnosed me with it in 1990, when I was stationed in KOREA. She put me on a 10 day run at own distance/pace profile, but never followed up with anyone about it. She told me after testing me, that I needed more PT, and although I was disappointed and in disbelief, we ended it at that. So, I struggled with running for my entire career, not knowing that I had this condition. All I knew about asthma, was a person would have asthma attacks and almost die from being unable to breathe, whether they were exercising or not. All I knew was that I was a very poor runner, despite being 5'7" 145 pounds. Push-ups and sit-ups were too easy. I only knew of one other person who was diagnosed with it. He was about 5'9" probably 240 pounds and after only about 18 months in the ARMY , was given a medical discharge and 30% disability. So 2 weeks ago, after ETS for 20 years, I finally went to the VA, and this was one of the things that my rep suggest that I claim. Wondering if it is a valid claim, and if it's still a 30% disability?

That's sucks Sir. I would surely try to get everything you are entitled to. To often our vers are overlooked and treated unfairly. I saw your initial post and responded because no one else did. Please don't think that I related my daughter's issue to your military issue. Good luck and thank you for your service to our Country.
