I'm in the market for a new hunting shotgun and have heard to stay away from Remington. My HD shotgun is an 870 and has never given me any problems. Is this true because I don't want to waste my money or should I go with a Mossberg?

I would much rather have a good used older Wingmaster than a new Mossberg, or any other pump made.

I would avoid newer 870’s and Mossbergs both. They both have issues.

There has been something like 11 million 870’s made. Find a used one made before Remington was bought by Freedom Group. I have two, and they’re solid guns.

Ive had several mossbergs, they don’t have many issues that I’ve seen. Mine have been great. My best shooting shotgun was a maverick 88. Really wish I hadn’t sold it. Killed A LOT of birds with that baby.

Plenty of people have had luck with them. Plenty of people have also bent the slide bar one them. I don’t see what hassle it would cause Mossberg to put two in there. Remington didn’t have a problem doing it.
