Looking to put a scope for a Ruger 10/22, what scope do ya'll recommend and have good results with? Mostly 25 to 100 yard shots.

I'm heavily considering a Vortex Strike Eagle 1-8X, for my 10/22.
Should make for a coon slaying machine, as well as lots of fun on steel.

If it was a CZ bolt action tackdriver .22, then i would, but for a Ruger semi auto? It also has that metal band around the barrel and forend of the stock. Had a promotion and paid only 50 bucks for the FFL.

The main thing you will want in a 22 scope is adjustable objective or side focus down to 10 yards or so. BSA sweet 22 seems to be the best budget based scope on the market for a 22. I have a Nikon Prostaff 7 that I’m mounting on a 10/22 this evening, but that’s probably overkill. A red dot is awesome too. My preference is the Bushnell trs-25. It’s cheap $60 or less, and is great.

If you expect the rifle to be an MOA performer, I'd definitely go with AO. It doesn't take a whole lot of parallax to screw up a nice tight little group being shot at 50 yards. That's just what I want in a scope for a rimfire rifle, though. If you're gonna go kill stuff I think just about anything will work. I used plain ol' Weaver 4x scopes back in the day and had no trouble shooting jackrabbits as far away as 125 yards. Just had to have a decent guess what the range was, and 4x magnification was plenty.

One detail I forgot was that we would drive down the street to the Weaver factory and request parallax be set at 60 yards, which they'd do for us free of charge. I believe almost any scope that's marketed as a rimfire scope will be set up in a similar fashion, though.

Yep. River rider is dead on. AO is a must for target shooting. What’s your plan for the rifle though? If it’s shootig tin cans and such, not a big deal. If it’s tiny little groups, big deal.

I also have a Savage MK II that can share the scope. Now it's 50% of the cost. And I don't have to pay retail in the first place.

The EOTech 518 with the quick detach goes nicely between a 10/22 and AR. It requires some windage & elevation adjustments when switching though.
You will have to get a taller rail as well, the rail that comes with the 10/22 is a little to short.
If you would rather have a scope, I would agree with the suggestions above. Don’t go too cheap, it’s to easy to move a scope to another rifle.

Gonna check out some local shops like Academy, Bass pro and others and see what they got. I see some online AO scopes and those ya'll recommended are nice as well. I prefer to see scopes in person and hope the local shops carry AO scopes. Thanks for the heads up.
