A buddy of mine gave me a bunch of Black Hills 300BLK loaded with the 110 grain Black-tip TSX (TTSX?) He gave me enough of it that it I had to buy a rifle to shoot it. I finally had an opportunity to try it out the other day. 85 pound doe was approximately 175 yards away. At the shot, she hunched and ran about 40 yards and fell over dead. Caliber size entry with a half-dollar size exit. Lungs were mush, with a chunk hanging out of the exit. I was impressed!

Very nice shot!! That is an ideal performance for that bullet. You will almost always get an exit. If the bullet expands, it will expand about 1.5 times diameter and have an exit.

The Barnes Tac TX is bad mojo for pigs. Buddy of mine shot a hog two weeks ago with that bullet. Shot Was a little back and the hog only made it 30 yards.

Was able to take a young man out to try for his first deer yesterday. 110 TSX performed beautifully again at just over 100 yards.

I use the 110 grain TTSX out of my 30-06 quite a bit for deer culling. Moving along at about 3500 fps, it is a death ray for deer. I have never captured one in a deer from any angle. It shoots very flat out to 250 yards which is the furthest I have shot a deer with this combination. It also kicks less than heavier bullets.

Both of my 300 blks LOVE the 110x
Hey JMM - can you provide me with load data for that? How far off the lands are you? I had horrible luck with 110 X with my previous 30/06 barrel. I've never tried them out of this new 10 twist 17 incher...

53.0 grains RL10X, 3.18 OAL. I will have to look to see how far that is off lands. It is in my book but I don't remember off the top of my head.
