does it have to be a State Park??? Lake Georgetown and Lake Granger are Corp of Engineers lakes with parks and bank/dock fishing.

Inks is one of my favorite places to take the kids but out of the dozen or more times I've been the fishing has sucked.

Colorado bend is great but you are correct, too early.

I wouldnt recommend Inks Lake right now. I crossed last weekend going to the lease and they have the water level real low for some reason (dam maint, etc).

Colorado bend is nice. I plan to take the kayak there sometime.

Whatever you do, Make SURE you have the proper fishing lisceneces, would hate to see you on TV.

NO LICENSE needed on any Texas state park (bank) ! laugh . . . . https://tpwd.texas.gov/fishboat/fish/programs/familyfish/

State record Coppernose Bluegill is from Purtis Creek. The mount is inside the office. CN 'gills get big as a crappie and fight almost as good a black bass the same size. Good Catfish too especially off the dock that the deer feeder is on that throws the Fish Chow. Black Bass are strictly a catch & release fish.

Thanks everyone! Any other fishing tips for Purtis Creek? What bait is best from the docks at night and which one is best? Are the crappie hitting off the docks yet or is it too early.

I've heard live goldfish off the bottom work good on catfish and big bass.
