My still-alive ROW buzzard that can’t fly found the big hog i shot two days ago. Man, he was like a fat kid on a donut, having 150ish pounds of pig all to himself to chow down on. I was observing with the hope a coyote would show up. No coyote, but 7deer and 3 turkeys strolled through the area.
Not my monkeys, not my circus...

Nice. You might call your local GW and ask if one of the charitable orgs might be interested in him.
To be determined

Why can’t the vulture fly?
Good for him enjoying a meal and doing the cleanup work.

Turkey hunter, who would want a stinky buzzard. Jeffbird, it appears that he has a damaged wing. As I sit and wait on a hog or coyote, I watch that buzzard. I wondered what he normally ate to stay alive, and it appears that he eats a lot of bugs. He looks really goofy as he runs, but he really can get along pretty fast.
One rather odd thing i’ve noticed is that the flying type buzzards won’t let him mingle and share the hog. They run him off, and he’ll sit about 50 yards away and watch them eat. Kinda sad that he’s excluded.
Also it appears that he no longer considers me to be a threat, though he does keep an eye on me. We aren’t ever going to be ‘buds’, but our needs are aligned. I shoot varmints and he eats them. It’s teamwork.

Nature would cull him. That's why the other buzzards don't let him eat.
I learned long ago you can't reason someone out of something they don't reason themselves into.

NP, nature hasn’t culled him yet. I expected him to be dead in short order, but the months pass and he’s still around.
I haven’t taken any pictures of him yet, though a video of him running would get a laugh out of you guys. But I’m not gonna follow him around with a camera for that shot though.

If you ever watch Lone Star Law, game wardens collect injured birds and take them to rehab facilities. He may not be able to fly, but he may make a good addition to a teaching collection of live birds. Call the GW and see if he will collect him. After all, the buzzard is a survivor.
