Anybody else out tonight? Trying to sneak through frozen pecan orchard is impossible. Sounded like Sasquatch running through woods. Managed 1 so far.

Good job! I don't mind the cold when things are productive. It isn't much fun when you aren't seeing squat.

Last weekend, we were trying to sneak 4 guys through crunchy grass and leaf litter. That we didn't spook more hogs is beyond me. The whole time the 'crunch, cruch, cruch' was going on with our walking, I just knew we would be busted, but apparently the hogs thought we were just other animals out foraging like them and they were making their own noise as well.

I stumbled on some pigs in the leaf litter last week. We were all making a racket, but the breeze was in my favor. One stepped out of the trees and cover headed my way. Shot her before she looked up. ~10 yards.

A little one.

Brrr, you're the man. But, someone has to sit at home and drink hot chocolate, eh?

I tried to sneak up on a large boar the other morning in the cold. I was looking from a distance in very little light at a round trap I have that was a little over 100 yds from me. I could see him standing next to the trap..or so I thought.. so I started a sneak through the cover. Every step was a big crunch and finally I got to a point where I could make him out through a bunch of branches of the large cedar tree I was hiding behind. I could barely see my front sight as had a Marlin 39 .22lr with me. I sighted in on his head and actually hit him and he went wild. Funny thing about all this was he turned out to be inside the trap going nuts...I just couldn't tell it in the dim light. Really makes a guy feel stupid!...and glad nobody was near to see me with this folly.
