$450 for the 3-18 model seems like a very fair price. I wish they had it in mils and I'd be interested to know what mag the reticle will be accurate at.

I've got a Strike Eagle 1-8. It's OK. The dot is supposed to be zeroed at 50, and will then be good at 200. I have mine zeroed at 100 at the moment. The dot seems a little large for precise work. And, that's ok, as this particular reticle is designed more for close in stuff and as a combat reticle for fast target acquisition. Those newer scopes may be different and have a different reticle. The turrets on my scope seem to track fine, the reticle lights up fine. I like the scope a lot. The quality on the scopes seem to be pretty good.

Thanks,

Marty

I have the 1-6. The 3-18 looks interesting but I really want them to do a 2-12. That would be perfect for close-up (pig comes out of nowhere) and longer shots from the blind.

It is decent glass for the price. Its not a swaro obviously but I have no complaints on the glass.

I really like the so called Xmas tree reticle on my 1-6. I guess most of my shots on hogs are when they are moving so the large circle just makes it super easy to get on target. I have had great success with it so far. I think if I do switch it will be to a 1-8. But im going to upgrade my glass to something like a Nightforce. Maybe a few years for the NF so the strike eagle 1-6 will have to keep putting them down.

I have the older 1-6. Took me a little to get used to the horseshoe reticle but after these past few years its second nature. The glass is fine for what I was needing - close in work or out to 200yrds. It takes a beating too, i was glad to have Vortex's warranty smile

They are decent for what they are, a solid scope at a budget price. They are made in the same factory as Primary Arms's optics. If you were wanting one in Mils that's what I would get.

I have the 1-6x on my wife's 300blk and I have a Primary Arms 4-14x FFP on a 20" AR. Both have decent glass, hold zero, and have taken their share of pigs.
