When yall started hand throwing or using a tailgate/trucker thrower, how long did it take for deer to start hitting the corn? If you have a feeder close, they will find it immediately. Hunted a Ranch west of here this year and road corn a road that has never been corned, deer were on it within hours.

Hand corning is too hard, I road corn with a tailgate feeder. Hand corning is easy, one of the nephews drives, the son and the other nephew sit on the tail gate throwing corn. What if you're alone. Open the sack part way, put it in your lap, drive down the road with the door open and dribble the corn as you go. Or walk and scatter it by hand.

Some times the deer are there as soon as I drive off but Id say with in the hr usually. If I hand feed I make as much racket with the bag as I can. If you are first doing it spread it thin and a long way and shorten the distance as they find it or get use to it.

The deer are like cattle, when the feed truck shows up, the cows head to it. If using the same truck as the feed truck day after day, most cattle will also soon know which truck is a feed truck, they ignore the other trucks. Deer will do the same.

My opinion always go to the blind that you feed the roads or fill the feeders with.

I always corn the roads when I go out to the ranch. Over the years the deer have really grown accustomed to it. I don't use a corn feeder any longer, just a protein feeder.
