Got my dial in less than three weeks, and that was after I called and made a verbal change to my order. I had asked for muzzle velocity of 2840, as stated in Hornady's spec's. This is for a 24" barrel. This dial is going on my Tikka CTR, with a 20". I had them calibrate it to 2740. I'll be testing it soon and see if this one is as accurate as the one they did for my 5R.

Do you get the gun chronographed before you send those dials off? I have two CDS scope and I never sent off the dials because I couldn’t find anywhere to use a chronograph.

I did not. I know it would have been best to, but since I was shooting a good ammo that I felt would be consistent (for factory ammo) I went with what Hornady published. This is Hornady Superformance, SST 165 gr, 2840 muzzle velocity. It was spot on. I shot it using the dial at 100, 200, 300 and 400 yards. I held on target with no hold over, dialed those ranges. My elevation spread was under 2", 4 shots at four ranges 100-400 yards. See my post from March 2017 where I posted results. The CDS has worked great for me for hunting. Again this year, I shot coyotes out past 300 and held dead on. That is posted more recently.

I just bought a VX3i with CDS. I'm looking forward to getting a good load worked up and getting a custom dial for it.

It has worked well for me. I had pre-ranged zones and had time to dial it.

Wow, I guess the proof is in the pudding.... if you're hitting the targets you want to hit at the ranges you want to hunt at, then there's not much to argue with!
Just a word of caution for other readers though. It is usually just not as simple as getting the velocity on a box of ammo and getting a custom turret made. True muzzle velocity is rarely the same as what they write on the box.

A Magnetospeed sporter can be had for under $200 just about anywhere, and will give you exactly what you need! If you are shooting at distance, it is a worthwhile investment!

You're right. But, I tested it and it worked for me. I wouldn't have put it on an animal at anything past 100 without a field test first. See my post from last March. Also, It's been money in a few hunting situations this season. Wow, I guess the proof is in the pudding.... if you're hitting the targets you want to hit at the ranges you want to hunt at, then there's not much to argue with!

THIS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It may have worked out, but, no offense, it isn't exactly the best way to go about it. Gotta have a chrono, period.

None taken. I had shot the gun and ammo a couple of years, saw what it was doing and based on trajectory I thought it would be close. The dial was no charge, I rolled the dice and it worked out. I've piled up a bunch of animals with it. For a hunting application it works. Do you get the gun chronographed before you send those dials off?
