We have this buck on our place that we’ve been seeing on camera for two years now. He finally showed up last weekend so we could see him. I watched him for a while and decided he needed another year. What do y’all think? Here’s a summer time and a deer season pic.

Will be a stud next year!

His rack is most likely as wide as it will get throughout his lifetime, with next year being the beginning of a downhill slide.

Note too the wrinkled skin on the shoulders. Definitely qualifies for the senior citizen discount.

Yea it was up in the air. After a season of seeing many young good bucks I decided I’d let him get one more year on him. Our deer usually aren’t narrow like this one so he is unique. We will see him again this summer to see what changes.

Yeah should have whacked him. He’ll probably be smaller next year. He’s definitely mature. You might get lucky and he could peak at 6.5, but most likely he’d look a little younger if he was gonna do that. Heck, he could be 6.5 right now.

For all he is, would he be legal in a 13 inch county.

I think he would be one where you are holding your breath as you walk up to him with a tape measure in your hand.

Pretty sure he's not in an AR county.

Pretty sure he isn't, just wondering if one that good would have to be passed up if he was.

I’m thinking he’s 13” maybe. That’s the main reason he got a pass. It’s been an off year for us so we let plenty of good deer walk.
