If you want to save some currency you can easily do it yourself. I did my own after I killed my first deer and had no idea what I was doing. Now with YouTube and a pair of forecepts and a power washer you can get it done easily. Just my 2 cents; good luck

someone was telling me the other day about using
denture cleaning tablets for the final clean up
instead of boiling like so many do. i may try that
on anything i get next. i'm not really a fan of
boiling for a delicate skull.

Thatís because he uses beattles. Boiling and power washing will make the teeth drop out over time.

If you can get your hands on a pressure washer and a pot big enough to boil the head (hanging in the pot with the antlers on the rim), itís a pretty quick process. Boil for a few minutes, pull out and pressure wash (jet, not angle sprayers). Rinse and repeat. I use Quick White and 40% developer from Sallyís. I buy on Amazon, but you can probably find somewhere local in Dallas. Make a paste of these two and paint onto the skull, leave for about 24 hours then rinse off. Done and done.

Hang it on the fence for about a year. Done and free.

Tried that one once and the squirrels were supplementing their meager pecan diets with antler! Bastards.

The beetles are the most impressive results. You might check with local high school or college biology department. Frequently, those classes need a subject to study and will collect the beetles, manage the process and the smell for you and give you back a beetle-cleaned skull for free.
