Looking forward to heading down to HUNTERS CREEK RANCH. This will be my 6th year heading down there.. In fact, I'll be heading there twice this year.

Can't wait to try out my Sightmark Photon on some pigs!

Was thinking of putting out a feeder light to help spot them as they come in..or do you think this will spook them? Seeing a that there aren't feeder lights out there all the time.

If you just want to know when they arrive, a driveway alarm could work.

Search Harbor Freight for Wireless security Alert System.
When I pulled up the HF web page I got a bunch of coupons, one was for the alert system for ten bucks.
If you go that route, be sure to check that you're within range of the alert transmitter. They work to maybe a little over 100 yards I think, so if you're within Photon range you should be okay.

As for lights, it just depends on how skittish the hogs are. Where I hunt they generally don't mind when I put up a motion light. Other folks say it scares them off.

We put out a feeder light and the same night the hogs were under it. They didnt miss a beat guess we were lucky
because I have also heard the opposite.

You will have fun there but you already know that!! As far as the light I think it's hot or miss. Try it out and see what happens! Good luck!

I was at HCR before Christmas. I've never seen that many hogs in the enclosure. We shot 7, put 6 in the coolers. The feeders go off at 6:45-7:00AM and 4:00PM. Hogs will show up around 7:00-8:30AM and from 4:30-6:00PM. It was raining, so your times may be different. I did use my weapon mounted green light for one hog. Didn't spook them at all. Have fun and be careful because there are some big hogs at HCR!!

Hogz, ive been to Bob's place SEVERAL times with clients. I have thermal and i have the Photon as well. You will have a great moon while you are there so you should be able to easily see movement at feeders since most are fairly close distance! Dont risk the light and just keep your eyes peeled!

Well..another great hunt at HUNTERS CREEK RANCH. 7 guys took a total of 22 hogs. I took 3 but could have taken more (I wanted the newbies to get more shots).
If and when I figure out this photobucket thing I'll post some pics.

I took your advice Stealthjr and just used my Photon to scan. It was awesome. The pigs had no clue I was there. Great investment for a low budget night vision (when you only get to hunt hogs once maybe twice a year)
Cheetah.. Bob and Doreen said to tell you hello! Not sure if you heard but Bob was bit by a brown recluse and was in the hospital a couple days...doing much better now though!

Now I head back down there with my regular group next week! Hope to take more hogs this next trip!
