2017 was a good year for me, taking over 100 hogs, 40 coyotes, 20 beaver, 5 or 6 foxes, and a few skunks and armadillos off my landowner's properties and helping my buddy Dave by taking nearly 100 hogs and a few coyotes off of his landowner's properties as well. I believe I finished out the year with two last hogs from one of my landowner's places where I had not seen hogs in a while. It was pretty funny. Just like the last several times, I drove though the gate with low expectations. As I was closing the gate, I did a scan and noticed several animals on the east side of his house, some 400+ yards away. Could have been cattle, maybe deer (he has lots), or maybe hogs. I slowly in and parked on the west side of the house, what would be about 150-200 yards on the other side of a low rise behind the house. My goal was to creep up the rise and scan over the top to see what was over on the east side. I had gotten maybe 20 yards from the truck when I realized the animals were coming over the rise and down toward me...

I thought it was interesting that the two I killed had fresh mud on them. It had been chilly all day and was 31° at that time, but they had been in the mud and water.

That sow exhibited Destroyed Noggin Soup syndrome clearly a result of a quite effective Quality Assurance shot!
