 finally get a good one... right down the road from the house!

I have driven thousands of miles over the years back and forth to west Texas, spent a small fortune on leases, equipment, gas, etc... and finally shoot my best deer right around the corner from my house!! hahaha I guess that's the way it goes! Anyway, the pickup is packed for one more trip out west- my daughter wants to go to our Val Verde county lease and see what she can get done, then I guess we're done until next season. Here's a picture of my hometown deer

That is a very nice buck, congratulations! I'm another guy that likes hearing about the rifle and the cartridge it is chambered in. Another "like hearing" is the County (not the exact location), as it is interesting comparing deer from the various counties represented here.
