Not wanting to do this but was just curious. Lets say you are on a LF place. You dart a Buck and recover him. You put a tag from your license on him and move him to a different property. You give him the reversal and away he goes. Is that legal?

Don't think so Don but something you'd definitely want to check. Know there are particular and very laid out Rules and Regs for transportation of wildlife. May not apply as much with exotics.

Oh, kinda like shooting and wounding a deer and the coyotes get it. At least with a dart they will wake up as opposed to a gut shot deer.

I’m pretty sure that would be a no-go.
I learned long ago you can't reason someone out of something they don't reason themselves into.

No, you have to have a permit to move any live Whitetail deer(also see CWD exotic refs)LF/HF, even to do it in same property you have to have permit(DMP)

That sedative would be in the system for a period of time and make the meat inedible til it clears the system. Probably have to ear tag that deer too if you could get a permit to move it.

This topic came up a while back with some people I know. Nobody really knew the answer. It just seemed like if you did it and tagged the deer it would be the same as if you shot it. Thanks for clearing it up.

But if you have the ability to dart and reverse get the meds.just right I thought that you would know this would be illegal many ways!!!

They will still come out of it if you don't use the reversal. It just takes longer.
