Does the xq 50 connect to your phone or just to a remote?

The Apexes comes with a remote control but they do not connect to any other external devices. The only Pulsar thermals that connect to a phone/tablet via wifi are the Trail rifle scopes and the Helion monoculars.

The only difference in the Apexes and the Trails are that the Trails have:

1) Internal video recording
2) Rechargeable/removable battery pack (6-8 hour battery life)
3) Wifi to connect to your phone/tablet

Otherwise the specs, magnification and image quality is identical when comparing the Trail XQ50 and the Apex XQ50. Same goes for the XQ38's in both models.

Hope that helps.
