Wow, this afternoon got started off awful! First the wind caught the door of my cabin and I stupidly set my rifle in the wrong place and of course it smacked it and knocked it down. I shot it twice at 100 yards at paper towel but didn't have anything but pencil to try and get a bull's-eye on it so it was pretty lousy. I didn't have a great rest etc. I hit the paper both times I shot so I was pretty confident but there was just this nagging feeling that IF I got the shot and made a bad one I would be pretty po'd at myself so I grabbed my back up. Got halfway to the stand and realized I hadn't taken my meds today so I had to turn around and head back to get them. Finally got to the stand and ran four deer off that were at my feeders at the time.

So I am in the stand and I currently have four bucks at my feeder none of which are shooters. Hopefully the 9 1/2 point shows up this afternoon...I am thinking about taking him...below is a pic. So would you shoot him? or let him walk?

+10000! That's the first thought. I'd have to figure out what I'm going to do with a sheep, though.

No, he didn't come out but it was an enjoyable hunt. As for the sheep, regular occurrence. Drives me crazy but the owner runs sheep. This is the first year to hunt this stand and the pen was already there. Once the season is over I'm moving it back and enlarging, using hog panels, it so that sheep won't be able to get into it...although there are a couple that jump my other pen.

Looking forward to a great hunt in the morning.

Well, I'm back. Had an ok morning hunt. Saw quite a few deer/bucks but unfortunately the sheep prevented quite a few of them from going to the feeder and ran off the ones at the feeders. But once they left a 6pt cull that we've been wanting to take showed up and I put him to sleep. Below is a pic.

Now that I've taken care of the meat I need to get my a "trophy". It's been pretty slow so far but the conditions are really good right now so hopefully one will show itself!

Good luck and congrats on the buck. The pic is not open for me but that doesn't mean anything! Lol. Keep us posted on how the hunt goes this evening!
