FIL is wanting new binos. I have Vortex Vipers that he's used and really likes. He's shopped on line and seen prices right around $500. Question 1 anybody seen any cheaper? Question 2 for same price point, is there better glass?

Please give us a call and we will hook you up with the best prices on a perfect binocular for your needs.

You may wish to look at the Kowa BD42-10XD 10x42mm Prominar XD Binoculars which are on sale reduced from $500.00 to only $399.99 and are superior to the Viper HD's

Thanks. I'll send your info to him and will check reviews on your recommended glass.

Viper HD can be had for $419 from eBay. The seller is very reputable and they are new in the box.

I picked up some Vortex Diamondback 10x42 binos last year for around $100 (with a sale and some coupons) from Cabela's and have been very satisfied with them. I think you can pick them up right now for around $150. I've never compared them to HD's but for what I use them for (distance-wise) they are more than adequate.

I tell ya, I bought a pair of Bushnell Trophy XLT 10X42 for my ranch truck and am extremely impressed with the clarity. About $125.

We have a couple of the Bushnell Trophy 10x42mm demo Binoculars @ $99.99 and we will fill THF members with a new unit at the demo price. For $99.99 I doubt there's a better option available

BP how are the Vipers? I accidentally destroyed my Theron Wapitis and need to replace them. I can get the Vipers NIB for $300.

I also picked up a pair of Vortex 10X42 binoculars for just over $100 during a Black Friday sale last year. I will say a very good optic for the money. I let my bother in law use them and the first words out of his mouth was " Wow - these things are so clear."

Worth a look.

Also, I had to use Vortex customer service due to an accident. Trust me I was so surprised on the service and a prompt repair. They truly stand behind their products with no questions.
