When I took my quarters to the processor I had to enter the tag number on the processing form.

You need another processor.
Thursday at 12:45 PM #33 Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.

It is covered in the TPWD outdoor annual. The meat reaches its final destination at the processing facility where the pertinent info & tag number is recorded, if the hunter keeps possession of the head the tag goes with the part that is not yet at its final destination. The tag must remain with the portion of a deer the hunter possesses. ---> TPWD after killing a deer ---> TPWD cold storage, processing, taxidermy Click on the above links.

Granzins in New Braunfels told me the same thing. Didn't need the tag because it was quartered. All they needed was info from my license. I was scratching my head on that. They process thousands of deer each season so they are the experts

Life is too short, as is. Don't chance it. Don't text and drive.
