I forgot my hunting knives at our ranch in West Texas and have a big trip to South texas this week. Now I need to go buy a new one so I have something to use just in case I get something. Do any of you have any recommendations on what I should get without breaking the bank. I'm not looking for a gas station type of knife. Preferrably something with a gut hook. Trying to keep it under 100.00.

yeah, folding utility knife that takes disposable blades. get a pack of regular blades and a pack of carpet hook blades. for the few things you can't do with that.... get a cheap filet knife.

Buy a Havalon Barracuda and carry it in the truck. Just remember it is crazy sharp. You can't even touch the blade edge and not get a nasty cut.
