Dpms or palmetto.. then take the 4-600 you have left and buy glass and ammo, and trigger.

The secret to a long life is to try not to shorten it.

DPMS G-2 Recon Stainless 16", 1:10, Timney trigger, Syrac adjustable gas block, hand load 155 gr Sierra TMK, has done its' job very well. Dropped two hogs in the last few days. One in the neck at 224 yards, and one double lung at 30 yards.

With that price range, I’d look at the Savage MSR-10 too.

Savage MSR Hunter. If you plan to shoot suppressed it has an adjustable gas block which comes in handy.

Windham Weaponry SRC or a Smith & Wesson. The S&W is $900 on Budsgunshop right now. Just look up the reviews on the Savage, they are not that great.

Palmetto or DPMS, both good for the money. Luckily I got a 7mm08 from Palmetto when they were still selling the uppers.

Why you gotta keep reminding me about your 7mm-08 AR?

I went with a PSA PA10. I bought the upper and lower separate. Then put them together, and got them for a total of 609.00 after transfer fee. Then I put on a decent scope. With PSA be ready to do some tweaking to it, if you want it right. Mine came way over gassed, with the bolt carrier group out of time. It worked out of the box, but it beat the hell out of the receiver and me. The things I had to change on it so it would be satisfactory for me were the gas block to an adjustable gas block, added two tungsten weights to the buffer, added a quarter behind the recoil spring to time the bcg, and I put a muzzle brake on it. I probably could have done fine without the muzzle brake. However, the other mods were a necessity.

If you want one to shoot straight out of the box, without any mods, spend a bit more money. Get a DPMS, AERO, DD, Smith and Wesson, Windham Weaponry. Don't get me wrong. I love my PA10, and it shoots like a dream now, but I did have to modify it and tweak it to get it there.

Thanks,

Marty

GLC, do they not make them anymore? They still show it just out of stock.
I check their site daily hoping to catch one in stock. bang

I have not seen them in quite a while listed. Maybe if enough people put a bug in their ears they may bring some more in?
