Never liked it as a kid, but pot pies have grown on me. Really simple to make.

-1/3 cup each diced onion, flour, butter, milk
-2.5 cups chunked cooked turkey or chicken
-14 oz chicken broth
-2 cups mixed vegies fresh or frozen, frozen is what I used
-double pie crust, I was lazy and bought ready made
-1/2 teaspoon salt
-1/4 teaspoon black pepper

In a pot melt butter and cook onion till clear, then add in flour and stir till combined and no lumps then add milk and chicken broth. Simmer till it bubbles then add vegies and turkey and remove from heat.

Place crust in pan dump earlier mix in cover with second crust cut some slits in top and bake for 30-40 minutes.

After a bit of cooking it helps to cover the top with foil to keep the crust from burning.

Lol Bill, I have a 3 year old I make more smiley faces, deer, dogs, and movie characters on pancakes than I can count. He wouldn't eat the potpie... I bet if it had a deer on it he would have devoured it.

Thinking about adding some worseschire (dam who can spell that word) sauce to it and cooking some with deer meat, think it would be good.

It's easier to spell than pronounce for me.

Looks good Matt

that is what I usually do with the legs and thighs from wild turkeys. Pressure cook them for tender meat from them with some onion and garlic in the pot and use the liquid from that cooking as the broth in the pot pie. I also like sweet potatoes and add them to the pie, sometimes by baking them then mashing them up and adding to the mix.

the wife made up some turkey salad sandwiches over the break, tossed chunks of turkey into a processor until very fine, mayo, sweet pickle relish and a little salt & pepper. was darn good for a change of pace.
