I'm sure many here saw my post wanting to trade my AR 10, never found a trade that jumped out and said, "this is the one"
Well, today I found the one
Winchester model 70 super grade 30-06
The pictures he sent did not do this rifle justice, it is absolutely gorgeous!!!
Have not got it to the range yet, but really looking forward to getting it sighted in, then go look for some hogs
The Winchester will be my day gun, my 308 with my NV scope will be my night gun
I am one happy old man!!!!

The super grade M70 is truly a nice rifle and it's impossible to criticize the choice of a .30-06. Enjoy!

Does not have the scope on it in these pictures, but I mounted it after  The pictures do not do it justice, it is absolutely gorgeous

Still worth it in my opinion I agree, but hoping the recoil won't be that bad with the weight of the rifle and the pad It should pretty much put hogs down where they stand Can't wait to see the "death quiver" lol

Very nice. 30-06, Blue steel and walnut. It may be showing my age but, when I picture a big game rifle that is what I see. You can do a lot with that setup!

Yes that was my first deer rig looks just like it got mine in 1974 can't beat 0-6 get them hogs

Congrats. If you are shooting under 200 yards then you could use the Remington managed-recoil 30-06 ammo.

Pretty rifle, hope its a shooter.
If you want them to die where they stand you better be spot on with your shot placement to the head or central nervous system. If you just stick it in the lungs they will run.

My wife gave me the same gun as a wedding gift back in 2001. It is definitely the Cadillac of my gun collection. You won't stop smiling when you hit the range, it's that nice.
As far as the comments about the recoil, you will be surprised how easy on you the gun is. It has a nice recoil pad and it has enough weight that it really isn't bad.
