Dude I have been missing out on these all my life because I didn't like just plain grits as a kid. would never eat them again. go back to opening weekend of deer season and one of our members brought some cheese grits for opening breakfast weekend. tried some over biscuits mixed with sausage & gravy and it was pretty good. Wife took me to the Broken Egg yesterday for breakfast & they specialized in southern style cheese shrimp & grits/w smoked andouille sausage. It is the Freaking Bomb!!!!!!!

Paula Dean should have lied.

I was in Charleston back in October and man oh man oh man, they were amazing. The best one I had there was pimento n cheese grits served with fried green tomatoes and sauteed shrimp.
