I have a question for the group? I currently have a deer lease in the west Texas area and the deer hunting has turned out to be very slow. My hunting group has been leasing now for over 30 years and between age and rising expenses we’re thinking our leasing days are over. All this brings me back to my original question do any of you all know of any reasonable price day hunting places in the central or North Texas area? I would like to find a place that we could hunt 2-3 times during season. Thanks longhorn74

Day leases have been going away for 20 years or so and being replaced with package hunts where the hunter is more likely to have success and the outfitter has more control over how the hunters behave and what they shoot.
Do you have something against package hunts?

There are always some on the local Craigslist, but no idea if they are worth looking at. I agree with Postoak, look for a package hunt. The outfitters on here would be my first stop.

For the opportunity to hunt 2-3 times per season, I (personally) would still look for a season lease. Hope you find what suits you, sir.

Good luck and try to find some late season stuff here on the site or craigslist.

Old man told me day hunt lease deer run to the middle of a field and stand on point and jump 5 feet high and run when they see corn. Relate corn to death. This was in the 1970s. Tons of hunters in one spot. Makes you wonder why a deer would even be there at all. The hay cutters can come out to my huntin spot and the deer vanish for 2 weeks. Hay people just jackin with hay. Not deer. I would'nt waist my time day leasin. Thats just some dude making money off of hunters or suckers.
Recently got a gym membership, strange folks! I like to show up the roid zombies with my full motion curls with the 55lb. bells. Not their cheater short stroked light weights. It's holarious.

Did a day lease hunt twice, once a very long time ago it was suppose to be 13 hunters on 1300 acres, well I could see 2 other hunters within a 100 acre lined in this big ravine with me, it was not good. Second time a co worker who paid my way just so he would have an experienced hunter with him, it was pathetic, trash everywhere, beer cans you name it there was everything there but deer. Be careful of any Craigslist ads, I would stick to the THF or other reputable hunting org

Most weekend hunts are at least $1000-1500. Stick with leasing
