Up here in my hometown hunting. I decided I'd try Rage heads again. I used them a long time ago when they just came out and lost 2 animals in a row and threw the last one away. I honestly think my bow was to fast and they were deploying in the air. Anyway I have the 2in ones. Here we go..

By the way I'm in Wimberley and it's a very target rich stand. I'm not going to be to picky today.

Unleashed the fury!!!! Shot looked good!!! She was quartering away and I may have put it a little back but exit will be spot on. Saw the arrow hanging out the other side.

Sounded like a football game when the shot went off. Deer running everywhere. I guess I should've hunted here for the rut but I was to busy getting things ready in North Tx. For the rut there.

Found her...wasn't easy. Shot wasn't perfect but still very lethal. I would expect more blood from that exit. I'm happy but not impressed.

If that is the exit I can see why very little blood trail though. Blood filled the body cavity instead of out onto the ground. A little lower and I bet it would have been completely different.

Yes that is correct. She was so bloody when I skinned her. Guess I hit her high. They did leave a big hole. The ground was so soft I mostly trailed her hoof prints digging deep into the soil and breaking branches in her path. I'm not positive I like them yet. Guess I got to shoot something else.

Congrats. I tried Rage crossbow mechanical broadheads with my Mission MXB-360 and had 3 of them open up in flight and take off high to the left in to a swamp at the outdoor range up in the Woodlands area. I was shooting out at 40 yards and trying to mark the distances so I could choose the right sight tape for my HHA Optimizer Crossbow Speed Dial. I was using their crossbow collars and a brand new collar with every shot. I was putting the collars on right and lining up the two blades parallel to my rails. I had 4 packs of them and over 70 something collars for them. I bought the extra blades for them too since the archery shop said that they were the best mechanical broadheads on the market at the time. I lost 3 Mission Crossbow bolts and a 4 pack of them cost $49.99 so I was not too happy about that. I believe I have it on video too because my wife was taking video of me shooting them after the first one opened up. I was also shooting the crossbow with my Caldwell DeadShot Field Pod. So I switched to G5 Montec Crossbow broadheads and I get great flight out of them. I used to shoot NAP Spitfire mechanical broadheads with my LX and never had a problem with them. But I couldn’t find the crossbow Spitfire broadheads in stock anywhere. I ordered some for my LX again and plan on using those and Thunderheads with my Recurves for hogs this winter. I will never use Rage brand stuff again. Glad you found your deer.

A little high but still got the job done. Those shots can be a little harder to track. Doubt the broadhead was the problem. The buck I shot this year had a huge hole in him from a rage 2" hypodermic.

This is why I use good ol muzzy fixed blade broadheads. If it ain't broke don't fix it! I've had muzzys pass through shoulder bone and exit other side. I think a lot of those mechanicals are marketing gimmicks with cool names like hypodermic rage etc etc
