Ok gang, looking to get my FIL a Contender for Christmas. He had one back in the day and has been talking a lot about it. He sold it some time ago. Where can I get a new one? I know TC has come out with a G2 but I can’t find them in stock anywhere (DFW). Most stores will order but don’t carry them. Any ideas or suggestions about where I could walk in and buy one?
Thanks in advance!

This should probably be in the firearms section. Please accept my apology. If the moderator could move it I would be much appreciative

EBCO has frames on sale. Have them make you a barrel and have less then 800 in it

If your FIL used the original Contender, you might want to go to Gunbroker or similar places and find another original. The G2 is different - fatter, different trigger, a bit heavier. The "good" thing it has over the G1 is that if you pull back the hammer and don't shoot (let hammer back down), you don't have to break the action open like you do on the original. The G2 uses a different bolt angle on the buttstock, so they take different stocks, but both use the same forend, as well as barrels.
I have had the original and the Encore, which is a beefier version of the G2. I prefer the flat sides and smaller size of the G1. Just something to consider.

Had a G1, have a G2 (.223 carbine). Personally, the G2 is a nice improvement.
