My son runs almost every morning. He took this today on a greenway by his house, well within City of San Antonio city limits. I won't give exact location 'cause I don't want a battalion of pointed stick guys scaring the women and children.

Look closely.

At first glance, you think 130” big bodied deer/city deer.. then you zoom in and realize he could be closer to 160 confused2 with all that hanging down and flaring off the back of the right g2.
Awesome buck. Thanks for posting that one.

That is a beauty for being in town. Is someone feeding protein? Abilene has some on the southeast part of town, they keep in the wooded area along Cedar Creek. But nothing that nice.

That is a very mature buck. He's done an awesome job of avoiding vehicles in the big city.

Lots of good deer in McAllister park, over by the airport and in the green belts on jones maltsberger

Shavano park/Vance Jackson area has them too

Hill country village and Hollywood park and across 281 isxanother area

They are allowed to get old is the key

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

A good example of even in the hill country, if the land is not over grazed and the deer can fully mature you can grow awesome bucks there too.

cheers

Wow! A good friend of mine used to live in SA, and he sent me some crazy pictures of bucks in his neighborhood. They knew when it was hunting season!
