Going out in the morning for a hunt until about 12.
Property is mostly wooded with large open areas, about 30 to 40 acres of open space surrounded by woods.
East Texas....Athens area. Rut possibly going on.
Would yall get deep back in the wood with limited view and nothing hitting feeders.....OR Would yall get in tower over looking tree line and feeder.

I'd be in the tower with my heater cranked up on "high".
In the end, it's not the years in your life that count, it's the life in your years.

What I do sometimes on days like this is hunt the open spot until mid-morning and then when activity slows down I slip back into the woods for the rest of my sit. I have had good luck doing this and seen some of my biggest deer around lunch time. Good luck. Btw I am from Malakoff and have been seeing a lot around the area.

That's what I'm doing now. Sure beats staring at a feeder, especially during the rut.

Good luck to you Henderson cty guys. We used to have a lake house at Cedar creek at Log cabin. Used to be some good deer around there. Probably still is.
