We hunted Kansas for the youth pheasant/quail this past weekend. It was a blast. It was cold, wet, and windy. We found tons of birds, but they were all bunched up and hard to approach. My son ended up shooting at 4 roosters and got one. He got two rabbits and got his first quail. Enjoy the pictures. Opening morning Rabbits: First Quail: Total for Saturday:

Haven't had it in years but never spit any out. I am a sucker for happy endings and strapped cowboys.

Looks awesome. Were you hunting public land? If so, whereabouts? Heading to southwest Kansas come December.
In dog beers, I've only had one.

Quail hunting is like walking into, and out of a beautiful painting all day long. Gene Hill

Excellent. I want to get my son up there to hunt pheasants. It looks like he had a fun time. Good Job!
No matter how high a duck flies a hammer still breaks a window.

Nice pics. Did the dogs point? Did those Pheasent hold? It look like they could run for days in that grass

The hens and quail held. The roosters flushed out at about 15-20 yards. We had to kick the grass to get the hens and quail out.
