I posted the other day about some accuracy issues on a new 7mm08 project gun I put together..

I was testing to see if I could get away with not bedding the action into the McMillan Game Scout stock (LOVE)... once bedded, stacking them tight.

The gun on the right is my 3 year old's 6.8

yes sir!

Testing different factory loads, allowing time for the barrel to cool down really shows it is worth spending some time on testing different loads.

Good looking rifle, congrats.

Nice. I love the camo pattern on that stock.

I bet your 3 year old has a hell of a time dragging that 6.8 through the woods. grin

Got a link to what you did to bed the rifle?

13..
David is an awesome hunting partner..
Since he was like 4, he never has once complained about getting up early, staying out all day, being hungry, tired or bored.

Bedding?
No, I don't have an article on it.
My dad taught me a long time ago.
It's not hard and I just can't pay someone over a $100 to do a job I can do for 10 bucks and 20 minutes of work.

Come on ccoker...it's more than 20 minutes worth of work to pillar & bed a rifle if done properly. I've got 20 minutes just in cleaning up marine tex and clear shoe polish grin Seems to me it's a couple hours on both sides of the job for me...but I disassemble everything and tape stuff off...it really is a pain and worth what I pay my smith. Plus, his looks professional and not like a 6 year old with play dough (which is how mine normally look) rofl

On the weight...I was just curious, it looks light!

Ccoker, I really like the looks of that rig. Good color choices and I lm also a fan of the Bushnell LRHS.

Are you sure that’s not an A3 sporter stock rather than a gamescout?

So you wrote an article about a lightweight hunting build and you haven't weighed the finished product? laugh

Very good article and the rig looks amazing.

I will try and weigh it...

crap, you are right, it's an A3 Sporter, dug through email and found the order confirmation.
Had the stock over a year... I recall discussing the GameScout
Will fix the article, thank you
