I've got both my feeders fenced off with hog panels, one pen is 10 panels the other is 8. Cows are constantly getting in and destroying the panels in the process. Had to climb down at 8am this morning to let a freaking bull out of one of them....I've never been so damn nervous..lol. They've taken a liking to my protien feeder as well. Do I need to raise the panels a foot off the ground or completely start over with cattle panels or am I just screwed? Land owner demanded all feeders be penned off so we obliged, we've always had at least one feedee each penned off, but it's turned into a real sh*t show at our place. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated as Im at my wits end with these turds.

Put the pen back up for hogs. Get tee posts and ring your pen and put barbed wire on it.

Put an electric wire about 3ft high having clips attached to cattle panel and extending in front of panels with the long clips about 6 inches. Use a car battery with solar panel to keep charged. This will not affect the deer from jumping in pen. I hope this helps you.

I would say if the cows have a hankerin for your food, they will get in no matter what you do. Couple things you could try:
1. You could put a double ring on the pen, one ring on the outside for barbed wire, and a second ring inside for panels. Hopefully the barbed wire will keep the cows out and the panels will keep the hogs out. Just leave a good distance for deer to jump over each individually. You could do both close together, but I think that would be a recipe for catching a deer in the barbed wire or panels or both.
2. Another option is to put a hot wire around the pen. Again, you would have to make it so the deer could jump over each individual fence.

I have the same problem this year with them going after the protein, finally took the protein feeders down. Hard watching them get hung up. Will try again after shoring up the pen when I'm done with the season.

Knock on wood, the cows have not gotten into my feeder pen in four years on the lease.

We stopped with the pens, I think it just gave them a reason to break in. We started driving tee post at each leg and tying it off well. This seems to work for us because cows cannot pick up individual pieces of corn so they have little interest anymore.

First thing I'd try is a couple of strands of barbed wire at the top. If that doesn't work then perhaps try adding electricity.

that's desperate cows I'd say, if panels won't keep them out, I would run a hot wire just past it a bit, small solar panels aren't priced to bad. if the cow or bull is grounded good they get hit with that shock they will learn soon. Never mind the deer, they will make in the pen, right now with pasture conditions may be while for they come.
Chin up and keep patience, hunt safe.

If you built it right, you shouldn't need more than a strand of barbed wire added to the top.
You should have tposts where every panel wires together and one in between those.
If you properly construct it they have to jump it to get in. I've seen that happen very rarely. When it's happened is when you have a place being severely over grazed and the cattle are desperate.

Cows were about to take the hog panels down before I put a strand of barb wire along the top of the hog panel. No problems after that.

All good suggestions gentlemen, gonna pick up some more t-posts and reinforce the middle of the panels and make sure the panels are nice and taut to where it's harder for them to push over. One of my feeder pens is on top of a hill with rocky soil, any suggestions as to driving t posts in rocky soil? Sharpen the end to a point? Wish my tractor had a front end loader to make some what quick work of it.

Cows at my place will push on the control unit until it bends or breaks and the corn pours out.
