Looking to take a guided trip in December with a top notch outfitter. Thought I'd start here looking for recommendations. Arkansas? Oklahoma? Here in Texas? Louisiana? Thanks in advance!

I will second Kansas for field hunting mallards. Give Ben Webster a call with Big Kansas Outdoors.

You can only shoot 6 ducks ----------- no matter how many you see------- I dont see how that is going to be the trip of a lifetime. That being said,,, look to Venice, La. ------- you can fish after the duck hunt.

Go tfor Seldovia AK with buck brown. My #1 place in the world. Less than$1500 for 4 days hunting and lodging. Travel cost a few $$ but you wonít regret it.

yes you can only harvest 6, but in most people's opinion, there's more to a trip of a lifetime than harvesting 6 ducks. maybe he hasn't ever go to put his eyes on endless miles of corn and mallards? To some, it is more about the sights and sounds than limiting.

Yea just pray the game wardens don't storm the lodge again and detain 30 of their hunters

That was on a thread last year then it kind of went away. Is there a report on it that can be linked to? It was Kansas and Texas right?

Panhandle is great, you need 3-5 days to ballance off the one bad hunt.
Panhandle looks promising this year.

and since you saw it on facechat it has to be true, right? another one of those fed headlines they love to publish"commercialized hunting operation set up and stung for trespassing, baiting, and numerous other game laws". they just seem to forget to come back and say "oops we messed up and there wasn't really anything wrong"

Kind of the reason I was asking for a link.

I have buddies that were there the time of the raid, and another one that was there earlier in the month, and I was in Kansas at the time. So no, I didn't see it on "facechat". Even before the raid, they said they'll never be back. I definitely wouldn't want to spend money with anyone that got raided by the Feds. But it's not my money so do what you'd like

I would also vote for Kansas, but would suggest a doing a goose hunt while you're there.

That said I don't know who to recommend...the outfitter we went with a few years back was also raided by Feds and as I understand it lost their hunting rights etc. Do your homework and go with a reputable outfitter that you know is above reproach.

Jeff Foiles and the strait meat duck club would be a "raid". feds watching someone because they simply don't like guiding and outfitting for awhile, making a bust and not arresting, fining, revoking privileges, etc would not be a raid. You don't get raided and get to stay in business these days.

Oh good lord you're being picky! If several state and federal game wardens (not just 1 or 2) showed up at the lodge before the hunt, detaining every hunter there, downloading cell data, pics, videos, getting testimonies, and being escorted to the bathroom for 8 hours, while at the same time going to the guides houses to do the same thing doesn't sound like a raid to you then you're just splitting hairs. Btw, the hunters I know that were there at the time and had to leave not completing their entire hunt, still haven't heard from Zach for an apology or explanation. Whether any charges stuck or not, there was still cause for concern to be monitored for 2 seasons. But I'm done arguing what you think a raid is or if that's an outfitter that's still worth spending money on. Enjoy

Nothing I would agree more than this. if it is shooting gees in Conservation season
it is totally a different ball game. than go to Kansas.

To me there's a big difference in having six ducks come in one at a time and shooting your limit compared to watching flocks of 500+ mallards land in your spread.
