So I get the rifle in from Whittakers a couple of days ago, and yesterday I went ahead and applied the Dyna Bore Coat treatment to it since I use it on all of my rifles. I let it cure overnight. Lightened the trigger a smidge, and mounted the SWFA SS 3-9x42 MQ in Tikka Warne's and headed to the range today. Results are with Hornady Precision Hunter 143 ELD-X factory rounds. Quick, short summary......

1. Bore sighted the old fashioned way....remove bolt and look down tube at 25yd target. Adjust accordingly
2. Fired first sighter, moved crosshairs to intersect the POA, fired another, result was close to bull. Moved to 100yds
3. The first pic is the 3, 3shot groups that I fired. Far left was furst 3 shot group at 100. Went into .657
4. Dialed down .4mils (IIRC)-- Middle group is 2nd group fired at 100 yds. Went into .521
5. Dialed down .2mils--Right target is 3rd group fired at 100 yds. Went into .238.....RIDICULOUS!
6. Wind started howling so I went back to work. Will chrono shortly, and see if this nonsense can be repeated.

I have the T3X lite version. I'm anxious to chrono that load, but with accuracy like that, if repeatable.....I probably won't care what the chrono says.

They're awesome, nice shooting!

Didn't know Tikka was importing the Lite in 6.5 now. That's going to sell like hotcakes. I have the CTR 6.5 and it shoots about the same.

Absolutely stupid, and I don't claim to be a great shot. That's 5, not 3, for those counting at home.

Y'all bullied me into joining the revolution. T3X CTR, 24".

At times I kick myself for not getting my CTR in 6.5 but I already had a ruger in 6.5. I got the 20 inch AS in 308. That being said I love my CTR and I'm now a Tikka fan for ever!

Posts like this are better than advertising. I might need to do some shopping.

I'm taking my 308 CTR on a whitetail hunt in 2 weeks. I have a SWFA 3-9 on it.

150 Nosler Ballistic Tips, 46 of TAC for 2875 FPS.

The Hornady Precision Hunter ammo proves to be "precise" in actual use. I only had time to drop by the range and fire 10 rounds through the chrono, and got an average of 2667 fps, with an ES in the single digits, 7fps IIRC. 2-3 shot groups, and 1-4 shot group still printing at .5moa or slightly less. This T3X is an amazing shooter.

My group above is Precision Hunter ammo.

It's really long with the can (Omega, I could change the break to a flat cap), but I bought the 24" over the 20" because you can never add it back on once you cut it off.

There's seven listed on Gunbroker, and Bud's and several others have them in stock.
