Trying to decide which spot to hunt in the morning, and based on everyone’s experience do you usually see more deer in the morning or evening on the wheat field if you or the neighboring property has one.

I like evenings, the deer have been bedded most of the day usually and are ready to get an early start in the afternoon, double if the weather is cool.

Evenings. Last 10 minutes of shooting light.

I have, by far, had much better luck hunting wheat fields in the evening.

IF you can get in a shooting position with deer in the field then by all means get in a morning hunt. If you can't slip in, then your decision is simple. Get in early afternoon and catch the magic hour.

Mornings after full moon I like being in a blind 100 to 200 yards off the field in their staging or travel corridor. No moon or cloudy night, hunt on tne wheat field. Best time to hunt them in the afternoon is cool cloudy day or with an approaching cold front.

Evening

Seen a lot of deer in the wheat when driving to lunch on a full moon.

Full moon next weekend so mid day should be best but evening better than morning.
