I've hunted over it. Very attractive food source for ducks. Has to be a wind protected l still pond to get it to grow. Old established with rotting vegetation even better

very good. used some by all ducks, but gadwalls and wigeons will load up on it. needs decaying matter, sewer water, or some type of maure/manure runoff to thrive

Duckweed can be good and bad. It normally takes very nutrient rich water. Most ponds with trees that hangover will grow it okay. The thing is though, if it grows... IT GROWS! and it's a pain if you ever decide you want to get rid of it.

True dat !!
We've been it sooo thick it plugged up the water pump on the outboard. Mud boat or yak = no problem

It will completely cover a pond. Seems like every time I see a pond that is completely covered in it, there are no ducks in it.

the best private hole that we have to hunt is a creek that is literally covered with it. you can't even see water on it right now because the duck weed has 100% coverage. Within the next 3 weeks there will be a few thousand birds holding in it. I know that the duck weed is the key ingredient to this place being so successful because 5 years ago it didn't have any duck weed and only held a few hundred birds a year. I never planted any in there it just showed up one year and then so did the birds, by the thousands.

Gadwall’s wigeons and teal were hammering it on my lake this weekend. You could see patches of Sandy loam bottom through the water where they had eaten
