Found out yesterday that my aeortia is enlarged. It's needs replaced real soon. Looks like my lease money was a waste and my young dogs won't get the work they needed. Recovery time is several months I think. Anyway way I hope I am back hunting next year.

Here's to a speedy and complete recovery!!
There is time, and you must take it, to lay your hand on your dog's head as you walk past him lying on the floor or on his settle, time to talk with him, to remember with him, time to please him, time you can't buy back once he's gone" GBE

Prayers for you. I can tell from your words you in the dumps. I don't blame you..Here is the best thing you can do. Eat right...pray hard and get rest to heal. Maybe you'll make it out there before season closes. Keep your faith. You just need to get that pressure down. It can happen with the right rest and diet and pretty fast. Don't lose your faith. Keep your purpose in life...it's actually keeps you alive. When we lose faith our health delines hard. It's just like the old cleaning people in my office. We have a man in his 80s happy and healthy. He supports his kids and their family. He is so healthy cause he must work. He has tons of purpose in his life.
On the other side of the spectrum we see people in our office who recently retired. They worked hard all their life. Then retired and sat around with no passions or pressures of life. They end up in really bad health fast.
Hope I don't sound crazy...I just see this every day.

Prayers for a quick recovery. Hoping you, and the dog will be in the field next season.
Shopping with your husband is like hunting with the game warden. Experience is what you get, when you didn't get what you wanted.

About 10 years ago my dad suffered a ruptured aorta. He not only survived but seven months later we were hunting elk in Colorado. I finally lost him this spring. He had gotten back from a trip via float plane to Nova Scotia and we were talking about chasing browns in northern Missouri in May. He was 86. I say this to let you know that you can not only recover from this but maybe sooner than you think. My dad told his vascular surgeon, this is my goal. Now, how do we accomplish it. Stay positive, and if you have kids tell them to get checked out. It can be hereditary. Prayers sent.
