Does anyone have one of these? I just got one and won't have time to fool with it for a while and was just looking for some general reviews from someone who has the gun. FYI: Academy currently has them on sale for 199.00 after the manufacture rebate.

My dad bought on and it's in my safe. I haven't shot it yet but the trigger will not get below 5# on it.

The Savage Axis was on sale with a scope for under $300. My buddies dad bought one in 30-06, said it shot great. Not sure where he bought it, they live near Corsicana.

I have been looking at this, in the 308, for a week or two. For $199 from Academy with the rebate, I guess I will have to find out! Looking around on other sites they have good reviews, everyone pretty much says its a good cheap rifle.

I figured you can't go too wrong for 199.00 I got a 22-250. I'll scope it and start tinkering with some loads after deer season.

I haven't measured the trigger pull but it doesn't feel too bad, no creep but I'm guessing it is more than 3 lb.

Was able to take the compass out today along with my marlin 795. I have the Nikon ProStaff 4-12 x 40 Black Matte Riflescope mounted on top, it was quite the combination! Definitely a powerful, accurate gun. Brought a friend along, who by the end of two hours wanted one of his own. Personally I definitely need to take it out more, get used to shooting it, etc. Haha.

I have 2 T/C rifles both in .300 Win and they are real shooters. The Venture is great for hauling around with it's synthetic stock and light weight. The Icon is heavier but a tack driver shooting .75 MOA with Factory ammo. I harvested 2 doe with it a few years ago in KS at 597 yards. Missed the first shot and then 2 shots 2 doe for the freezer. I also have a Icon in .308 I wouldn't trade for $2K, it is a .33 rifle all day with Win. 150 BST ammo. Kudo's to T/C for really stepping up their game and making great rifles.
Longtime hunter/shooter/fisherman who loves being outdoors. I used to hunt/compete with my son, but he's now stationed in Germany. Never enough time.

There was a gunsmith out of Alpine Tx that was working with the T/C rifles but certain people kept shouting him down and he finally quit posting. Anyone remember his posts?

Cole...sure I remember him posting about about working up various usually lower end rifles and what all was entailed in making them shoot straight. Wondered what happened to him and too bad for THF to loose a resource like that. Ron

Ron, thought of you last night as the over speculated storm came through. The kids and several of their friends had left Tanglewood for 2 weeks and gone to Destin. Storm was very light, I have been on Texoma fishing in worse weather.... Cole

when do the stripers start biting, know ant good guaranteed guides? Oop's sorry to Hi Jack. I think the Compass is what it is, an inexpensive rifle, when properly scoped and loaded, will, indeed get the freezer full and a bill from the Taxidermist

Mr. Buzz, I guarantee that should you get inebriated and fall out of the boat then I would toss out a pair of skis and ski rope so it appears that you want to ski so you can save face with anyone in viewing distance. What more guarantee could you ask ??
