Trying to plan some time off and started looking back at my old trail cam pics from 3 years ago (haven’t had a lease sense then) and noticed a lot of different bucks from Oct 30-Nov 3. Unfortunately none of the pics were during shooting time, but at least there were more deer around the feeder.

So what time of the year do y’all start seeing most deer while in the stand?

The week of thanksgiving, or week after typically are good for us.

It really depends I think in the lease. I've been on leases where the first week of December seemed to be the best and then on some that the first couple of weeks of Nov seem to be the best.

Seeing the most deer I would say late November into December. Deer are looking for food sources and will be hitting feeders. Now if you are looking for your shooter buck I would be hunting last week of October into first week of November on my lease.

I see the most about 4 days after the season closes lol.


Seriously I’ll start seeing more and more when the mast crop rots/gets eaten and it starts getting cooler. Thanksgiving-January are pretty busy on my place.

End of January. They are cold and hungry. Gotta get the green grass out in the open because there aint nothin else to eat, though the first acorn crops and fruit in September tend to pull them out along with thirsty watering holes. New grub and thirst. The rut is ok, but the deer are all sprawled out everywhere and are moving at odd hours.

We are in Southwest Texas. In early December, new deer (and bigger bucks) start coming out of the woodwork.

Not the 'most' deer, but certainly the 'most' (and biggest bucks) here are in late October to the first part of November, then again about the first week or so of January.

I'm in Deep East Texas (Pineywoods).

in new york i would see most deer starting early september into the end of october for early bow season and regular bow season.

Usually the first week in November.
There always seems to be a lull right after the opening of archery season when the bucks are still in their bachelor groups, and then the deer just seem to get swallowed up for a couple of weeks.
Soon as first two cold fronts push through things start to liven up.

First couple of weeks of gun season. Bucks are cruising. You're liable to see one at any time of day, often in places you'd never expect.
