I'm over in Ballinger we have nice numbers on deer and the bucks are looking better with the protein we have been feeding fourth year for it. We have lots of turkeys as well! I have let to take a buck and have been on the lease for five years. The does eat just as well this maybe the year!
Good look!

This will be our first year to feed protein. You can tell a difference in the deer that visited the protein in the spring time. Gonna be a good year. We also have a large number of turkey. No pigs.

Used to hunt on a magical place about 5 miles north of Talpa on 2132 - east side of road. A friend of mine owned part of it for many years and we hunted it for over a decade. Unbelievable turkey population, and good, but not great antlers. Lots of deer, but also lots of deer taken. The sold the place back in 2010 I think, and my understanding it has since been high-fenced. I miss it and hunting with that tight group of friends.

6-8 years ago I saw a huge 8pt at the corner of 153/2132. Easily a 140 class deer. I would estimate his g2s at 12", great mass, 18-19" spread. I turned the truck around to look at him in the headlights in the field across from the intersection. Body was very large as well.

Hunt a few miles south of Santa Anna in coleman county. Decent bucks on camera and some does. Tons of pigs and some turkeys. One bobcat.

Hunted just east of ballinger my entire life. Always tons of deer! Plenty of 120"-130" inch deer and even some 140" every now and then.
