My brother in law is getting married in December. Coudnt think of anything he needs so i figured a guided duck trip to the coast could be cool. I've hunted north texas for quite a while, the coast hunt is a bucket lost for me too.
Any guides you guys HIGHLY reccomend? Please dont post guides that you are somewhat happy with. Im looking for a great trip. Ive been sold a bag of good before on guides and was severely let down. I dont expect any guide to gaurantee a limit, but proper gear, good calling, good spreads and a quality hunt is what im after. Any suggestions?

The Drake Plantation with Spencer Cuniff out of Winnie, TX... Go to his facebook page and you will see how many piles they kill. and majority of the time they are quality.

Sounds like he is wanting to do a bay hunt but if you are interested in a marsh hunt I would point you in the direction of Pipkin Ranch Outfitters. Thousands of acres of privately managed marsh vs. a 100 acre pond that gets hunted 2 or 3 days a week. There really is no comparison. I'm not sure what first hand experience WH has with Drake Plantation but this is coming from a guy who shares a border with Pipkin Ranch. They kill a lot of ducks.

Yeah, I absolutely agree with you about Pipkins is a great outfitter also. Top quality service there too.
The pond may be hunted 2/3 days a week, but they get their limit damn near every hunt.
Either way, if you do a marsh hunt, I would recommend either one of those two outfitters.

I am going to have to disagree with the "limit damn near every hunt" statement. bolt

from what I've heard, there are limits almost every hunt for the regulars and other "special" people, strangers off the street....wouldn't get your hopes up
