Think it will lead to greater regulation of silencers? I think an arguement could be made that use of a silencer makes it more difficult to locate active shooters.

Anyone who has shot a suppressor knows that statement is false. Of course Hillary has already said that but so what. Anyone that thinks a suppressor makes a firearm that quiet is misinformed.

You do realize they are not "silencers" they are sound suppressors. You can not silence a gun but you can lower the volume of sound coming from the barrel.

Shooting from a window 32 stories up has its own qualities in obfuscating the location if done correctly.
This guy didn't care. He just wanted to kill.

And CNN is reporting "high quantities of explosives" were located in his house. Those high quantities of explosives were "a couple lbs of tannerite" according to the sheriff. SMH on the lies already being spread by the media.

Pegasaurus, I agree with you. But on my NFA paperwork, under the section "Type of Firearm" it says "silencer" on it.

Hard to say, but i'd bet, after this is all over, high cap mags, assault weapons will be looked at again!
Remember its the idiot behind trigger, not the weapon!

One thing for sure, 5.56, and 7.62 will be flying off the shelves here in the next few days!

I know. And with the right setup / combination, they can work pretty darn well. When used on an auto loaded firearm, they just make the noise level tolerable but far from silent.
The uneducated think these things are like what they see the movies and make no noise at all.

They are called suppressors, not silencers. They would have (IMO) no impact on finding the shooter, but they would mitigate the damage done to the shooter's hearing up to the point he was killed by police or took his own life. The only argument to be made is by the misinformed.

And suppressors have little or nothing to do with what happened in Vegas. Chicken Little reactions from politicians that have no firearms knowledge whatsoever. Hillary made that asinine statement about "how many more would have been killed if...." and they all listened without really thinking about it. P_102

Did it ever come out what guns he used? All media that I have seen say that they were automatic weapons that are legal in the state of NV, unless the guns were altered I believe they were semi-auto. But with the proper license you can own fully auto firearms in a lot of states, which I doubt he had. Media pisses me off with the lack of knowledge of guns and gun laws. But that doesn't fit the agenda.

But what do I know!

Unless there is a new picture there is one rifle with a bump stock on it in that article and every other article I've seen.

So what would happen with bumpfire/slidefire stocks if they make them illegal? Would the existing ones be grandfathered in or would you have to destroy them? What about select fire triggers?

I agree 100%. Along with hi cap mags again and I bet bump fire stocks will be skyrocketing in price on the private re-sale market equal to one of the bitcoin up swings that have happened in recent years. Glad I got all the stuff I wanted already and don't plan to buy one damn thing at the crazy inflated prices that are coming with the panic buying.

I have enough parts to put together all the rifles I'd need along with components, ready to load brass and primers to last my grandkids' lifetimes so I don't really care. Powder is the only thing I might augment but I'm satisfied with what I have on hand.
Gonna be a lot of crazy high prices paid in the next 6 months I bet. And lot of $ to be made. Sad thing i believe, but it's a free economy and fear with being caught without will take over all common sense I believe. $45.00 plastic lowers will be going for what you could have bought a good forged lower for last week I bet.

Already are. Check prices on Gunbroker. Current bid on one listing is at $655 for a slidefire stock.

I see bump stocks becoming NFA items when all is said and done.

I’ve seen two pictures of two separate bump fires. I’ll see if I can find them again
