First year bow hunting and I have 3 different feeder spots set for different wind directions on the property. With a tree stand set at 22 yards , blind at 30 yards and a pop up at 10 yards (this is the one in question).

The 10 yards is set from off of a tree mount hang feeder , along the main travel trail from the top of the property to the lower pond. The trail is about 100 yards long , 10 yards wide .I can see up and down the trail 30 yards in each direction. The spot I have it is on a decline of a hill embankment and the only clear spot inside of the heavily tree lined trail . Is this way to close, to get busted by incoming deer ??

I personally like about 20. But, like you I have a pop up blind that I have tucked up under a tree. I corn the road in front of it from 10-30 yds and regularly have deer come in at 5-10 yds... as long as the wind is right, I never have an issue. And I would also add that our deer are extremely skittish. It's really about the wind though

I like 20-25 yards personally from a pop-up or tripod

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

Yeah that's pushing it... if the feeder is up high your corn will end up right in front of your blind.

When it comes to hunting mature deer it's better to be set up father away every time. If you get busted every time you hunt you'll be watching young deer or just birds and squirrels the rest of the season.

It's better to see all the deer every time you hunt and not get a shot then educating them every time.

Another great way to hunt is cross winds. So you set up east or west of the feeder. Then hunt the north east or south east for one feeder and NW and SW of another.
