Drew Gun Deer - Management. Anyone have any insight on this WMA or general area. I've hunted Gus England before and that is one tough cookie to crack going in blind. Not sure I'll ever put in for it again but not familiar with Alazan at all. Anyway thanks in advance
Brian

There are some big deer in there, but can be tough to find if it isn't during the rut. I've seen 2 giants at the check in station (middle one). It gets hunted regularly for ducks, so I'd stay away from the levee system. There are trails through the place, and you'll likely have the luxury of driving farther in there than the average Joe. The Winston 8 ranch is directly across the street from the main office and is heavily managed, so they aren't getting shot up all around. If I were you, I'd get as close to the river bottom as possible near some big oaks and try to catch them chasing along the river. I believe they corn up some blinds there too for the draw hunts, but depending on when the hunt is, it may or may not be worth it to hunt corn.

Thanks Jacob645 from I've seen it's open to bow hunting and gets hammered by the duck hunters. Appreciate the insight

I hunted there last year on the GDE hunt. Was my first time there. I chose a smaller compartment on the SFA Experimental Forest area. Was hoping the deer there maybe hadn't been pressured as much as Alazan.
