All of our feeders are elevated 6-8 foot off the ground. I'm really liking these ground feeders on skids for ease of loading and moving while full. Do any of y'all use ground feeders? Any issues with them obscuring view or blocking a shot on an animal that is on the far side of the feeder? Any other pros/cons versus an elevated feeder?

Best decision I've made was to use stand n fill feeders. No issues so far. So much safer filling especially for us older hunters. Still have one barrel feeder used for hogs, but I will be changing it out too probably after this deer season. Changing my protein feeders too. Taking my ladder back to the house!

Seems to me the pigs would bang up the cage and spinner. Any input on that?

If you get a stand and fill built properly with heavy hourse panel wire you'll have no issue.

No issues with blocking shots. Ramball has about best design out. Second would be Lamco

I have stand and fill...use to have 8 foot legs but I cut them off. Like it a lot no more ladder. Have to agree with dogcatcher, Ramball makes some that I really like also. The deer do get behind the feeder at times but don't stay there.

I highly recommend Alamo, in the classified's.

Built like a tank. No assembly required. Puts out a perfect circle of feed every time because it has no coon cage but it's coon proof.

Pigs kill em over here. Heck they destroy just about anything. Just hang it from a tripod and hand winch it down to fill

I use the 700# HB feeders and they work really well and are built like tanks. If you have hogs, you'll need panels; but, I have used panels for even the tower feeders for the last 15+ years so it's nothing new to me.

I used to pen them in as well, but it seemed to make the big boys nervous. Now I drive t-posts in parallel to the legs and use 3 - 4 hose clamps per leg.

I've got the low profile All Seasons feeders inside hog pens. Works great. Darn coons do slight damage every now and then, but that's true of ever feeder I've ever owned (even the Hang 'Em High variety).

Got my first SNF two seasons ago. Absolutely love the ease of filling. Don't seem to have near the corn waste from swinging barrels, birds, varmints, etc. There is the issue of shot blockage. If behind it you can't see them. If in front, you have to worry about a pass through damaging the feeder.
