Got off to a late start due to a threat of storms. The storms broke up over my hunt area and I hunted on and off during the night. I would stalk the property until showers started and head back to the truck and wait out the rain. The rain would stop and I would stalk in another direction. About the 3rd or 4th time around, the rains were just trailing off and I was scanning from the truck when I spotted a coyote about 100 yards out. I was about to get out, grab my rifle and sticks, and get them set up for the shot...while the coyote continued to mouse the field...

We have really gotten into Coytoe hunting in the deep woods
using shotguns. iT is much more up close and personal. We
use 12 gauges with the Hevishot Dead Coyote shells. We use
a caller and normally shoot them on the swing
