Bought a Savage 12 LRP in 6.5 Creed from a fellow THF member a while back. Finally got a scope on it this week. Went with a Bushnell Elite Tactical 6-24x50.

Got to the range today. I'll preface my report with fact that I'm not a target shooter by a long shot and not an over talented rifle shot. This is the first target/ real precision rifle I've ever had or shot really.

I bought a couple boxes of the Hornady Precision hunter ELD-X

I got it to zero in 4 shots. Would have been less if I had remembered that the reticle hashes were 0.5 mil not 1 mil. hammer

Anyway. Got it to zero at 100 and put this target together. I need more practice to get used to this trigger its super light and super crisp. Couple rounds went bang before I was really ready. Oh well. Always a good day at the range.

Little time doing some dry firing will get you closer to the trigger.

Had never done the dry fire thing before till a few years ago because I thought it would hurt the gun. After talking with a few on here I trust, it made a big difference for me.

I wouldn't call it bad shooting by any means either, if most people would take the time to do what you just did there would be a lot fewer misses opening morning.

Heck, it's about as good as I'll ever get.

I make it a point to practice solely from a forearm rest since that's how I will be shooting in the field.
