been playing with Lapua 139 gr and Varget and getting good results. If you have Varget , give it a try in 6.5 ( I know H4350 is good but just in case you have plenty of Varget) recent test at my range - 400 yards 4" AR500 target .015 jump 36 gr Varget Hornady brass, annealed on every load rifle is a Cadex CDX-30, 26", with Cadex bipod, Leupold 6.5-20, Horus 27 wind: 5mph 4 o clock 3 shots from dirty cold bore (the group in center and left) Ignore the other 2 splashes , those were from previous weekend in 20 mph/9 o clock I use Varget for my .308 and 30-06, so this is a versatile powder for me

I don't have a 6.5CM but I use Varget in 223, 22-250, 243s. Every one except 270. It's even good sprinkled on ice cream.

Hornady back in 2011 time frame switched from 4350 to Varget for the 120gr AMax load. Now days not sure if they use powders available to reloaders at all. You sacrifice some speed but get less recoil. I do the same just with ARComp instead of Varget.

You won't catch me using it on a 6.5 Creedmoor when IMR 4451 is available. Look at case fill percentages.

If a loads performance is stellar why would I look at case fill percentages?

So far from 100 to 8000 ft S Tx to NM Mountains all good I will admit I have not it straight up in the air or straight down nor while shooting inverted prone but out the window or off the hood of the truck its awesome.

Well then there's no need to change. My point was I investigate powders for a cartridge. I'm well aware of Varget being one for 6.5 Creedmoor, and Varget is one of my favorite powders because it does a great job in lots of cartridges. I simply believe more consistent ammo is achieved with more case fill. One of the traits of th 6.5x47.

I use 4064 behind 100 gr BT's in my 260, and that's a very similar burn rate to Varget. And I used it behind the 120's for a while. Super accuracy. I'd guess you'd get more case fill with 4064, if that really gave a fellow comfort. Research would be in order before I used it behind 140's, but if I got the accuracy why worry about velocity if you can adjust with the turret. That's what I've heard on the forum for years, from a couple of guys. And those guys are now talking new overbore calibers for velocity with 6.5 and 7 mm bullets. Maybe velocity matters....:-)
Just stirring the pot on a low day...
